Making Michael Jackson’s Thriller is a behind the scenes look at Michael Jackson, director John Landis, Academy Award-winning makeup artist Rick Baker and the rest of the all-star team who created Thriller and also features excerpts of other iconic Michael Jackson moments including the Motown 25 performance of Billie Jean and Michael’s Beat It short film. The documentary was premiered on television and available on VHS from 1983-1990 but has never been relicensed for television or available for purchase in any format since 1990. The screening in Venice will mark the first time that the award-winning documentary has ever been shown in a theater.

Unethical Clinical Trials have been the silent killers for generations. It is everywhere at all times, just like the virus. One such trial has torn two lovers apart, a woman who had been a victim of misinformation and a man who overlooked the truth. Now, she is one of the 'wakers' in a ghost town called Orbit. They can never meet. Prolonged isolation and extended quarantines had subjected both of them to severe mental stress and anxiety. But, they still try to cope up with whatever they can, she sneaks in a phone to the washroom of the facility and video calls him. They both fear for each other. She must distract and stop him from 'blowing the whistle' to the world. And, he must tell the truth to save his girlfriend and all the 'wakers'.

In wartime Sault Ste. Marie, the mayor invites the president of the Jewish congregation to speak at the town’s upcoming ecumenical war bonds rally. However, the president has just quit and nobody wants the thankless job. A funny and endearing drama featuring Melvyn Douglas, Nehemiah Persoff, Paul Soles and a 15-year-old Mike Myers. Based on a semi-autobiographical short story by Order of Canada winner Morley Torgov. Collie-haired Myers, in one of his first TV roles, is more behaved than usual as a skateboard-riding young piano prodigy. Hollywood veteran Douglas does most of the heavy lifting as a Jewish elder trying the impossible — recruiting a new president who can, in Torgov’s words, handle himself “among the goyim” at an upcoming town war bond rally. The town’s new tailor (Soles) — thought of as a bit of a peacock — is seen as the perfect candidate. (CBC TV-Movie 1978)
